Please delete this thread if it is not allowed. I like this pen - is it real deal? How to tell how old this pen is?

If so - is 550$ right amount to pay for it? Thanks

Did you get it? Link goes to a sold pen, for $629?

I'd say it's the real deal, decent price (if you're after the whole box/ink/papers/pen never used package) but not a steal.

Enjoy.

Thank you! Yes I paid 550 for it.
May I ask - is there a way to tell how old the pen is? The reason I ask is that the nib on the MB site does not have 18k, instead it says AU.
Thanks again!!

Congratulations! Welcome to the 149 club.

If it has Au on the nib, it will be modern. There is a 149 dating chart pinned at the top of this forum, which may shed some light on things. Otherwise, post some pictures of nib and feed and some of our expert members may be able to give you a more specific date.

Enjoy.

Welcome to the Montblanc club. I hope you enjoy writing with your pen for a long, long time.
Here's the link for dating a 149. Keep in mind that things are not always hard and fast with Montblanc, but you should get a good date range. The price you paid was a bit high, but you did well in scoring the 18k nib. All in all it looks like a really nice pen.
Be sure to come back to us when it arrives. We like photos by the way...lol..

Thank you all - the pen has been purchased and it will be coming my way shortly. Paid 450$ for it.
