Actually, that is the color, and it's one of the nibs that works well. I guess I am wondering whether the filling system can be changed.  I do have some of the Esterbrook-compatible ones, too. But that is my only nib for copperplate practice.

I've never handled the 'Easy Change' sections which your pen has, so I don't know anything about it.  I have the original Osmiroid 75 fountain pen that my 'nib units' came with.  Fortunately, it's still in working order (at this stage) however it's not going to last indefinitely - which is why I'm looking for a replacement pen that will accept the nib units.  The Osmiroid 75 pen is a screw plunge (piston) filler, hence my search for a converter that will fit both the nib units and also any replacement barrel.

Update: The Lamy Z26/7 converter fits on the Osmiroid nibs, but very snuggly. I do not have a pen that will accommodate both the Osmiroid nib and the Lamy converter though. I have a couple of sections for Osmiroid nibs made for me by Shawn Newton. These are currently bulb fillers. I have sent them back to Shawn and he is drilling them out to have a larger inner diameter that can take the Lamy converters.

I'll post how this works out.

The Osmiroid quick change models work with standard international cartridges and converters.

Wow David, you certainly don't waste any time getting these things done!  I'll be very interested to hear how this works out - after all, I can then say to Shawn 'Just do exactly the same for me with my two pens that you did for David'.  Perhaps my initial assumption was incorrect, but I always thought that the pens Shawn was going to make for me would have to be 'eyedropper' unless I wanted the sacs - but I was concerned that both solutions would tend to be 'messy'.  This is why I was so happy to discover that the Lamy Z26/7 converters actually fitted the Osmiroid nib units.  Given the snug fit, can you see any problems arising in the future?

One of my favorite sayings is, "Don't put off to tomorrow what you can do today, because, if you like it, you can do it again tomorrow."

I am getting close to the head of Shawn's queue for another custom pen, so I am eager to see if this little project works.  Shawn said he would get right to it, so I expect to get the sections back within a couple weeks. They got to his P.O. Box yesterday. I will certainly post the outcome here.

That is really fantastic service from Shawn, isn't it?  I can't wait to hear how it goes when you get them back.  BTW, could I ask you to let me know any particular points worth noting so that when it's (finally) my turn in the queue I can let Shawn know that he's already done all the 'hard yards' for my Osmiroid nibs with your sections.  I want to use both the pens I'm getting from Shawn for the Osmiroid nib units.  Without going back to check, can I ask if one of the pens that Shawn made for you an Eastman?

I have two Eastmans - Shawn's Bamboo model - and they are very nice.  The sections Shawn has drilled out to take Osmiroid nibs and Lamy Z26 converters are for a Prospector and a Quapaw, respectively.

One consideration for me is that the Osmiroid nibs are somewhat small, so they look strange on a pen that is large. Shawn's "small" Quapaw and Prospector models seem well-sized for the nib. I also have an Osmiroid section for an Orville, that is really too large. I end up using the section for a Pelikan M800. BTW, that one is a piston filler.

I think an Osmiroid nib would look fine on a small Eastman (which isn't really that small).
