HI All,

To share some news, Stilograph Corsani is releasing a new special edition made in partnership with Visconti, dubbed the Octa90nal. This is the 3rd special edition (to my understanding) that Corsani has done with Visconti, the previous ones being a ragtime and a homo sapiens inspired pens. This pens takes on the faceted series previously seen on the Brunelleschi and the Medici, and uses the grey stacked celluloid used in other pens such as the wall street, the metropolitan and in Corsani's own "Corsani 90".

The pen features a double reservoir, palladium nibs (all available grades), hook/lock system and a silver band with the engraving "Corsani the Octa90nal".

There will be 100 pens and will be available mid September ( per the description this is the last remaining stock of the grey stacked celluloid) .

What do you think?

Look like Visconti Wall Street, or something like that, with a different name.

It uses the same celluloid that was used in the wall street, but the shape of the pen is 8 sided faceted . the shape you can relate to the new medici or brunelleschi

It looks like a handsome pen & I thank you for alerting us to it's manufacture. I am sure there will be some persons happy to discover it.

Yes, I saw that about the shape. Still looks like the Wall Street thing. But, hey, if people are willing to shell out big bucks of it, then why not

Very handsome pen, but way out of my budget.

Wonder where they got the 'inspiration' from for this and the WS. And it will still have a 2nd rate nib. All for big bucks.

I wonder if they fixed the reason why I returned my divina metro in that stunning ceulluloid (it's genuinely better than a vacumatic's amazing stacked celluloid)

That celluloid section would get ink caught between the metal sleeve that holds the nib/feed and was impossible to clean, rendering the pen useless.

I still wish the divina had that problem fixed - that is by far still my favorite looking pen of all time. That celluloid is unearthly.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
