What?! No pictures of all these pens? I'd love to see what they look like.

Paddrino, you are in Denver? Have you looked into the Colorado Pen Posse?

haha touche' Picture below.

Yep, I'm in south Denver (highlands ranch). I have heard of the Pen Posse, but haven't looked much into the group.

Wow! You made some beautiful selections! I love the variety. Have you had time to do any significant writing with them?

We of the Pen Posse are pretty fun (and we help Ed Capizzi put on the Pen Show). Join us! I think there's a Facebook page with more information (I'm probably one of the last three people on the planet who haven't joined Facebook). Greg Liverman can tell more than I can; he's been a member longer than I. But the people are great and the meetings give everyone a chance to try out everyone else's pens.

I have gone through 2 converters with the Visconti opera so far. Had to do a significant amount of cleaning on it as it had some blue ink residue crusted up in the pen. All is working well now though :) The Visconti gold nibs are wonderful writers.

I have gone though 1 converter fill with the Franklin Christoph. That nib is gorgeous, and I am still amazed that it has such smoothness for the sharp stub qualities. Amazing writer.

I have gone through 1 converter fill with the Sailor. Amazing fine nib! I am typically more of a Pilot guy, but this nib is amazing right out of the box.

I just filled up with green striped Sheaffer balance yesterday, and will be writing with it as my primary writer this coming week.

I will have to look the pen posse on Facebook! Thanks for the recommendation. :)

The Pen Posse currently runs off email notifications via a MailChimp list that Ed Capizzi maintains for the group. Send an email to ed.capizzi@coloradopenshow.com to get on the mailing list.

There is a Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/coloradopenposse/ ), but it does not get updated with meeting notices. Hey, we do pens, not computers :) :)

Also, if you filled out the prize drawing form, there was a box to check for Posse mailings -0 that should get you on the list too.

Bottom line, send Ed an email.

Greg

The more I know about computers, the more I like my pens.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
