Pelikans And Missing-Pen.de - Great Shopping Experience

I recently purchased two Pelikans from missing-pen.de

This was my first time shopping with missing-pen.de and my experience could not have been better! The shipment came before the estimated delivery date (to the US from Germany).

I purchase two brand new Pelicans from Rolf Their in Germany. I have been drooling over the Pelican Tortoise White ever since seeing it on the Gourmet Pens website (thanks a lot!) and decided it was a must have. His pen prices are excellent and he included fun mini-gummy bears and mints.

I don't post a lot in FPN, so my apologies if this is in the wrong forum.

Cheers and happy writing!

I've gotten pens from Rolf a couple of times, through his eBay store. I've had good experiences both times -- he shipped quickly, got me tracking information within a day or two, and provides good commuinication throughout. And the pens I was getting (all modern Pelikans) ended up being less expensive -- even with shipping charges to the US from Germany -- than any US dealers for the same pens.

The only problem? I have several crowns so I can't eat the gummi bears (not after the first one got pulled off by spice drops a few years ago.... (My dentist was NOT amused, BTW.) Oh, and the first time, for some reason once the pen cleared US Customs in NY, it got to Pittsburgh via somewhere in New England. But I was able to track its progress....

When a crown was pulled off by Juicy Fruits years ago, my dentist was amused to the tune of $850.

Missing pen is a good resource.

Rolf is a well established retailer who always provides good service in my experience. I've bought several pens from him and have always been pleased.

PELIKAN - Too many birds in the flock to count. My pen chest has proven to be a most fertile breeding ground.

Haha, same thing happened to my 1st order from Rolf. Went from Germany to New York to San Juan, Puerto Rico, where the red/black M150 spent Memorial Day weekend, then back to NY and out to so cal. As temp over 100 here, Gummibears were a congealed blob inside the little package from riding around in the truck all day.

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

Back when Rolf was doing inks, I bought inks from him. 100% satisfied. Never bought a pen from him; was on my down slope of pen buying by then.

I had a great experience purchasing a Pelikan from the missing-pen.de site. Rolf goes the extra mile (kilometer) to ensure a positive international transaction.

Count me in as another satisfied customer. I purchased a used M1005 a couple of years ago and am extremely pleased with the pen and the transaction.

I just ordered a M805 Blue-Black from him. He had a great price and by emailing him directly for the sale the shipping was free. He does that on over $100 orders... Just paid so I am not sure how long things will take to get here...

Just remembered I did have one unexpected hiccup in buying the two M405s last spring -- got a phone call from someone at PayPal! :o And the conversation (at least at MY end, was something like this: "Yes, I really AM sending that much money to a guy in Europe -- it's NOT a fraudulent charge....")

I would hate a call like that, but I would also hate to not get it if it had been fraud.

Ralf sure is fast. I had a tracking number from him 3hrs from when I paid the PayPal invoice. For some reason it went into my spam folder when the original email did not, but I found it.

I have my credit card set to refuse any international charge unless I let them know ahead of time that I'm traveling to a specific location. I get an email telling me of the charge and I simply click the "Everything is Okay" button - then process the charge again and it goes through.

I bought an M200 Café Crème from Ralf, and was pleased in every particular with the deal. Once I save up my allowance for a while this winter...

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
