Can Anyone Match The Pen To My Description

Aramchek

Recommended Posts

So, I was browsing Aliexpress and came upon a pen that I was thinking about buying a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, I missed adding it to the wishlist and even though I've tried, I just can't remember what brand or model it was so I'm hoping someone can help me out.

It was gunmetal colored, the section was knurled, it had a non-hooded nib, and I'm fairly certain it was not from one of the usual suspects (Hero, Jin Hao/Baoer, Picasso, Duke, or Wing Sung).

Any ideas?

M&G , may be, but AFAIK, that model looks like the Muji but come in Aluminium and Black, not gunmetal. Any more hint you can give us

I'm trying to remember... I don't think either the cap or the barrel had flat ends, and I believe it had lines on the barrel.

I actually just ordered the M&G model I believe you're thinking of.

  • 2 weeks later...

There is at least one retailer on AliExpress that is selling a gold trimmed gunmetal Luoshi that is absolutely stunning. The gunmetal color is really set off by alternating bands of a mesh type pattern running lengthwise on the pen. Nib is bi-colored and branded but the black plastic section is not textured. An absolutely stunning pen for under 4 dollars delivered from China. I can't post a picture at this time but a little time on AliExpress should do the job. And besides, it's always fun to shop.

@bugsydog

No pen like this is popping up here when searching for "luoshi" in fountain pens?

Please try to post the address. Thanks

Sounds similar, but the one I saw had knurling on the section, which was a large part of its appeal. Still want to see a link to it though! :-)

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
