Ink Pif - Continental Us

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I'm cleaning through my ink stash and want to offer several inks as a PIF. On offer, I have:

-Noodler's Socrates (a light purple bulletproof ink)

-Parker Quink Blue-Black (a fast-drying "blue-black" that reads more turquoise-y to me)

-De Atramentis Fir (an evergreen-scented light green)

-Higgins Black India ink **not suitable for fountain pens**

To enter this PIF, reply to this post with the following information:

- A list of which of the above ink(s) you're interested in, listed in order of interest

- Sorry CONUS only

I'll give out one ink per entrant in order of entry, giving that person the first ink on their list that's available. I'll notify you before shipment if you've won.

Good luck!

I would love the DeAtramentis Fir. Green is a favorite color.

I'm always up for new inks! My preference in order would be: 1)Noodler's Socrates; 2)De Atramentis Fir; 3)Quink Blue-Black and 4)Higgins Black India that I could use with my dip pens

Noodler's Socrates and DE Atramentis Fir are both on my list so I'd love for my name to go in the hat.

Many thanks to you Jessa

Very interested in the inks you are offering. What a nice thing to do. The Noodlers Socrates is sufficiently unusual that I as a junkie would love to have as my first choice. After that it would be the Parker (I find the color very nice and versatile), the Fir and then the Higgins.

If I read this correctly, the inks may all be claimed already, but if not, I'd like to request Parker Quink Blue-Black. I wasn't aware that they had a blue-black ink, and this is the only one of the four you listed that I'd be likely to use. Thanks for the offer.

If this is a drawing ("if you've won" makes me think so?) and not a first-come-first-serve, then I would love to try

1) De Atramentis Fir (I'm an absolute sucker for scented inks)

or

2) Noodler's Socrates

Thanks for hosting such a generous PIF!

I'm always up for an ink trade!

Hi all --

Sorry for the confusion on whether or not it was a drawing. I originally wrote the post as a first-come first-served to PM me, but the mods told me it had to be a drawing based on responses to this thread. One kindly edited the post for me, but obviously this was not entirely clarified. At any rate, it is a drawing, which I just conducted, and I've messaged the winners.

Thank you so much for your generosity! And I hope the winners enjoy the ink!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
