I just joined and wanted to introduce myself. It's been 20 years since I have owned a fountain pen. I just ordered a Pilot Heritage 92 (Blue) with a Fine Medium nib, along with some Iroshizuku Kon-peki ink.

 

Really looking forward to receiving it, and being a part of the this community.

Welcome !

 

Do you remember the fountain pen that you used 20 years ago ?

When you receive your Pilot Heritage, and fill it with the Kon-Peki ink, take a moment and hold the pen up to the sunlight. Backlit Kon-Peki in a demonstrator pen body is absolutely gorgeous !

Hi Sasha, I used an Omas. l think it was a Paragon - burgundy in color with gold trim. I bought at the recommendation of a friend who was really into fountain pens, however, I found it to be too fancy for my taste. After sitting in a drawer for a long time, I finally sold it.

 

I will definitely do as you suggest with the Pilot. Thanks!

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
