Monteverde Fireopal (Gemstone Collection)

I have eight different Monteverde inks in my collection, and they all perform well. I think the reformulated Monteverde ink line isn't getting enough attention.

Looks to have nice shading, but otherwise not a color for me.

Thanks for the review nonetheless.

Looks good to me. Unfortunately, I now think I'll be forced to order all of them.

I just ordered this ink, plus Amethyst and Jade Noir, because PenChalet is having a buy 2 Monteverde 30 ml bottles, and get one free sale. Plus, the cart did something weird--in my favor. Don't know if it was because I bought a pen with it (a blue Monza), or what, but I got another 10% off the ink and pens on top of that!

So I added a bottle of Caran d'Ache Infinite Gray to see what would happen--and it qualified for the 10% off, too. PC already had the CdA ink on sale for nearly $10 off. Between the sale and the discount, that brought the price down from $43 retail to $29 and change. Woo hoo!

And I got free shipping?

Score!

Congratulations on your experience @ Pen Chalet!

I find EVERY transaction I have made with them has been "in MY favor;" their listed prices are always favorable & their frequently offered discounts usually make these even more favorable. Their shipments are well packed, dispatched promptly & reach me quickly. I have NEVER been disappointed in any transaction with them.

Not affiliated with them, either, only a happy customer who usually does at least 4-5 orders with them every year, and has always had great experiences with them. But then most of the FP boutiques out there have outstanding service--PC, Goulet, Vanness, Anderson, iPenstore, Jetpens, even Tokyo Pen Shop and the Franklin-Christoph online store. I love doing business with all of them over Amazon for that very reason

Businesses in a niche market like this one die without great customer service.

Forgot to come back to mention my experience with the ink.

Can we say L-O-V-E?

Sent a letter to my mom written with it, and it was a huge hit with her, because she loves all of these autumn type of colors.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
