I was all over this pen until along came the spider. I hate spiders. Even jeweled ones.

Great pen! I love Bantams, and have quite a few of them. That's an interesting "grind" on the nib. Glad it is a great writer though.

Thanks.

It is hard to say with 100% certainty since I wasn't there when these pens were made, but I will say 99.99% that your nib is a later attempt to make a usable nib out of one that had been damaged.

I've never seen anything other than a F/M nib on a Bantam (whether steel or gold) and yours definitely has the look of having been ground down farther than would normally be. Fantastic writer now though!

IIRC, I ran across an auction, and was hooked by the mention of a size 0 nib.

Even though I have large hands and _use_ large pens, I tend to collect small pens (Bantams, Tuckaways, etc.)

As an assiduous and somewhat unhinged collector of ringtops, I've seen a lot of pens with teeny tiny nibs. I have a couple of pens with the #0 nib, and examples made by Waterman, Mabie Todd and especially Salz, who had a whole "Peter Pan" line of tiny pens (I wonder if anyone knows if that company had bought the rights to that name - the Great Ormond Street Hospital held the rights to Mr. Barrie's play). If you have small hands they're little treasures.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
