Just to let everyone know:

jrmekrn has very kindly passed the Tintin pen onto me (it arrived in the mail today, Thanks! :notworthy1: ) and I am going to then pass it on to my friend the Tintin fanatic, once I figure out what type of converter/cartridges the pen takes (any and all recommendations welcome -- I'm half assuming International Standard but actually have no clue because I'm not familiar with the brand other than knowing it exists).

I also didn't realize until it came: the nib says Inoxcrom, which IIRC is a Spanish company -- my friend is half Spanish and that will give her an even bigger kick (even if she never actually uses the pen...).

Hmmm. Maybe I should get her a Miquelrius notebook to go with it.... :eureka:

Hi Ruth. You're very welcome! It takes an international standard cartridge. I'm sorry, I forgot to include the converter that came in it. :(

 

That's okay -- I should be able to pick one up at the Ohio Pen Show in November (YIKES! That's just about 5 weeks away, isn't it? I need to start looking for accommodations...).

Wonder how my friend feels about purple -- I still have those Edelstein Amethyst cartridges from the Pelikan Hub 2 years ago.... :rolleyes:

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off.
