I have not posted in the Lamy forum since it became public. Today I have a reason to post.

This showed up at my door...an instant collection.

Enjoy

Wow! You even scored the terra cotta and savanah. Very nice.

And I just noticed the orange body/red clip safari in the top row.

I'd love to hear the story as well!

Gee, all I ever get at my door, unannounced, are politicians and Jehovah's Witnesses.

Add me to the people who want to know the details about this acquisition.

I'll admit that I'm not a fan of some of the colors. I LOVE my Dark Lilac one, and there's a couple of ones I've seen on the Bay of Evil that I thought were attractive (although I'm loathe to pay the prices asked). In particular, there was a French blue one (with a red clip, IIRC); and several years ago there was a special edition one that commorated the anniversary of Sweden becoming a country (blue with a yellow clip). I might consider getting a Charcoal one at some point -- overall I actually prefer the matte finish barrels to the really shiny ones.

There isn't much of a story ...

I'm sort of active in the local and not so local pen thing so I occasionally get calls. Week or so ago another pen person contacted me about a small collection of pens that he wanted to move as a group. We managed to meet and work out a deal. I'm not a Lamy person owning only a few but even I know good colors when I see them.

I will likely move along most of these in the future as I don't need them and there are a few members of the local clubs that like them.

Right now I'm hunting inner caps, fortunately I have the early metal converters.

I fancy there are more people who like them than 'members of the local clubs'. :D

Fascinating!

A really nice collection!

Is it fair for an intelligent and family oriented mammal to be separated from his/her family and spend his/her life starved in a concrete jail?

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
