Hi, Folks!

Desk sets don't get a lot of attention, but this particular set has a lot of wow factor!

EversharpSilverGreenShellDeskSet_1280_01

This is a late 1930s Eversharp lever-fill desk set where the pen, the long taper and the socket are all made from Eversharp's Emerald or Silver Green Shell celluloid.  Given the amazing patterns in the celluloid, the gold filled trim provides a subtle geometric accent to the faceted design.  The pen is twelve sided, 8 1/4 inches long, and the socket is sixteen sided, 2 7/8 inches long.  The base, intended to look like green jade, is 3 inches in diameter.  The 14 karat gold Eversharp banner nib, a firm medium, indicates a late 1930s pen or a replacement nib.

Thanks!

As John Keats would say: a thing of beauty is a joy for ever.
