Does anyone have any experience with these pens? In particular I'm interested in Masahiro's M-type filling system.

These pens look so cool, and the filling system is unlike anything I've seen before. The shop(?) appears to display new models of Pilot pens, like the new raden VPs, so perhaps they're still making custom pens, but they're being sold to people who specifically request them, rather than people who search for them on the storefront.

He wrote about having a stock. Running out of stock would require him to rebuy.
Today, I will send him a mail.

I remember Bruno Taut's blog said something about him... but I'm not too sure I think it's based on one of the earlier Pilot filling system prototypes?

So I asked the Masahiro FP producer if he still produces the pens and if he is also OK with international orders. Good news to anyone who is interested.

"My products are still being produced. International shipping is possible, but the pen tip that you can choose is limited. The thickness of the shaft is 13 mm, 14 mm, and 15 mm.
It is possible to make a pen if shaft material, pen tip thickness, axis thickness are decided."

If you contact him, please tell him that you read the news on FPN (http://www.fountainp...-fountain-pens/).

And please show us what you got.

I am planning on ordering one pen from them since I can order all models. The biggest model that they have is made from 18mm rods and holds 5.4ml of ink. But it only comes in one colour. I have asked for detailed pictures of the model I am interested in.

Edit: But at the price it is sold at (120,000 yen), people would definitely have a look at Conid.

120000 yen is a lot, and I'm growing ever more interested in vacuum fillers, but these pens look so cool! I'll admit that some of the allure is their mystique, especially since they come from a small Japanese workshop!

I wonder if Masahiro pens are becoming more prominent following some exposure on Instagram.

That is where I first learned about them. I don't speak Japanese but was able to communicate with Masahiro by email very easily. I bought the largest export pen (I am in the UK) with the piston supystem, in a very dark ripple pattern, but I haven't filled it yet.

The nib is tuned to smooth perfection (I dipped to try) and the pen itself is exceptionally well made - I really like it.

I don't think the company itself is on IG, it is customers who post pictures.

How the cleaning? While these interesting filling mechanisms are great to see in action, they are a complete b***h to clean. It takes half an hour or more to clean up pilot custom 823.
