I just got the advertisement today, haven't seen this type of FP yet "in free".

LINK (zebrapen.com) - Japanese company

 

And the bad stuff:

Refillable: No

point size: 0.6mm - that's too broad for me

This company talks a lot about environmental protection, therefore the throw-away FPs.

I'm confused - if the company talks about environmental protection shouldn't they make non-disposable pens?

 

I'm curious how this will compare to the Pilot Varsity, which also runs a bit broad but is a smooth writer.

1 Yes, 'reuse' is one of the concepts of environmental protection - among 'reduce' and 'recycle'.

 

2 0.6mm is too broad for my taste - your taste may vary.

Are you certain ? Somebody put ink into this pen, sometime in the past. Someone should be able to put ink into it again. Ask the membership about refilling this particular model.

Next month will be a stationary exhibition in Japan, I am going to look if I can get a closer view.

I believe that this pen, like many similar pens, including the Pilot V-Pen/Varsity, is probably made by Beifa in China, and is simply a version of that pen made for Zebra.

 

Like the V-Pen/Varsity you should be able to re-fill it by pulling the nib/feed assembly out and re-filling that way.

 

The only unique thing I see about these pens is the ink colours.

I'm confused on the references to the Pilot Varsity? I get little needle nose pliers, but it's just a friction fit nib. You don't break a seal and you shove it back in like any other friction fit section. It's easy to eye dropper ink in them and they last a surprisingly long amount of time.

 

I'm guessing we can pull that out on these Zebras.

I saw these new Zebra disposable pens in the local store and bought a 4-pack. They are marked as 0.6 mm nib. The 4-pack ink colors look like black, blue, purple, and red. There are three additional colors: green, pink, and turquoise, according to the package.

 

They do look like the same Zebra Fuente Disposable Fountain Pens.

by they mean environmental friendly pens its either pens made from recycled plastic or the plastic is biodegradable in the long run similar to Pilot's Petball which is made with recycled PET bottle which if you are as diligent with your waste management can be recycled back into the system

Old thread but I finally opened the package of these pens. They write just like the Varsity. Even though they are marked as 0.6 mm, they are actually slightly thinner (finer) than the varsity pens.

 

They write very smooth and feel more solid than the varsity. It looks like they can be filled with the same method of filling the varsity.

 

They are still $9.99 for the four pack at the local supermarket. The red is really the same as the pink in the varsity 7-clolor package.

Where can I buy a package of these? The Walmart in my area doesn't sell them. They only sell the Zebra Shaker pencils.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
