Hello, I'm recently moved to Jakarta, and I wanna know where are the best places to buy stationery items (fountain pens and inks). Actually I want know if Jakarta have a active community of fountain pens aficionados.....

Hello and welcome,

 

I live in Jakarta myself. I'm not sure about active community of fountain pens aficionados.

 

Depending on what brand and type of FP you are looking for, finding FP and ink is not that hard in Jakarta, Lamy, Cross, Sheaffer, Parker, Faber Castell and Montblanc are some of the easier to find in any major bookstore / stationery store. Japanese FP like Pilot, Sailor and Platinum, and ink from J. Herbin, Robert Oster, Noodler's can be found in online stores.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
