Most Uniquely Made Fountain Pen?

Possibly this jade pen?

"buy it now" for $325,000. For that price, you'd think they'd include free shipping but, no, that's another $96.

Could be worse. I remember about 5 years ago, several threads on FPN were devoted to some pen on eBay described by the seller as "vintage Bock pen" -- that one was only, IIRC, $95K -- but the shipping was an additional $15K.... ;)

And *that* pen wasn't hand-carved jade....

"It's very nice, but frankly, when I signed that list for a P-51, what I had in mind was a fountain pen."

I am interpreting "Uniquely made" as "Singular", without any consideration whatsoever regarding beauty, elegance, lack of taste, or practicality. Considering this, I would say:

About almost of Michel Audiard's pens:

Cesar's fountain pen:

Someone on here made a pretty unique pen with sterling silver/gold spiders, and also precious stones on it, and it was absolutely stunning.

For the life of me I can't remember who it was.

It made the Istos Arachnis look naff.

A real one off.

You are right. Go to the bottom of the page, please:

Shawn's Blue Heron overlay Eastman is such a fantastic work of art, the blue resin beneath it provides a nice and uncommon contrast that helps define the heron's environment in the wild.

FP Ink Orphanage-Is an ink not working with your pens, not the color you're looking for, is never to see the light of day again?!! If this is you, and the ink is in fine condition otherwise, don't dump it down the sink, or throw it into the trash, send it to me (payment can be negotiated), and I will provide it a nice safe home with love, and a decent meal of paper! Please PM me!For Sale: TBA

I'd nominate the Parafernalia Revolution as oddly shaped and unique for sure!

Seriously, who else has the uncontrollable urge to kill this thing with fire?

I can stop any time.

It looks like you can take the pen out from the center? In which case what's the point of the whole thing?

Could you be referring to DJ Kennedy who made custom pens for Neiman Marcus?

Just happened to run across his work when explaining Neiman Marcus to a Polish friend yesterday (she has a sterling ballpoint with the name Neiman Marcus on it and thought it was a person. Hers is not a DJ Kennedy.).

I don't know if it is the pen you remember, but I thought I recalled seeing a pen made by Shawn Newton, NEWTON PENS, Hot Springs, Arkansas, which he had a Jeweler friend make a an overlay for, with spiders & VERY discreet stones, which was stunning. I merely "Googled: Shawn Newton + Spider pen & found the image, it was on his site October 2016. It may not be the pen you aw, but it still warrants a look & was easy to find (If I could find it, it had to easy!)

The local pen store had several of these in stock. Boy, this is one of the more uncomfortable pens I have ever held. And the refill cartridges are very short and thin (read: little ink capacity), the cartridges are proprietary (read: expensive if you can find them), and the cartridges only come in black ink.

Yes, please. And I have the lighters.

My latest ebook. And not just for Halloween!

My other pen is a Montblanc.

Most unique that I've personally seen or owned? My Stone Mask 3D printed fountain pen, with red "pukao" turned acrylic section. Mine is, to the best of my knowledge, the only one like it in the world, and even Stone Mask pens with stock sections aren't common. As in, I've never encountered another one "in the wild." And it's an excellent pen!

In my opinion I think the Pilot Capless or Vanishing Point is a very unique pen because it is a fountain pen disguised as a ballpoint pen that looks good and is very practical and it isnt like a fortune to buy.

Even the Lamy dialogue is interesting because when you twist to bring the nib out the clip goes down a little bit. Only a little but atleast they tried something.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China. With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters. Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed. And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments.. I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
