Most Uniquely Made Fountain Pen?

What's the most uniquely made fountain pen you can think of? Perhaps the body is made of several different things, or it's just shaped oddly? Or the cap has a really cool, original carving? Anything really.. let me know.

There's a guy who is 3d printing clear eyedropper fountain pens with ink Chambers in unique shapes, like double helixes. I think he's still perfecting them, but I think they're the first of their kind. 3d printing is being done in fountain pens, but nothing like this has been made up until now.

EDIT: Here's the thread:

I think the most unique fountain pen I own would have to be a Schrade Tactical Fountain Pen. Unique, not because it has Tactical in its name, but because it has an adapter that will allow it to go from a fountain pen to a rollerball. 😀😀

Can one have gradations of "unique"? Either something is unique or it is not.

Not wishing to pick an argument....just my thought for the day :)

I'd nominate the Parafernalia Revolution as oddly shaped and unique for sure!

that honestly just looks really impractical.

Practicality is not a criterion.

Didn't say it was, just added my own comment stating that it's impractical

BY definition, unique means the described item is well unique, single, never having any other , so by that account, any custom made fountain pen or handcrafted ones are unique. In fact many mass produced fountain pen are also unique upon the fact that it use material ( like turned acrylic , ebonite or exotic wood ) that guarantee impossibility to duplicate.

So really IMHO there is no such thing as a most unique fountain pen, but most odd bit , off the scale or weirdo ( whatever phrase you like ) styled, or crafted pen there are plenty. which one is most off the scale is up to the individual. My own opinion is that none of these new pens really warrant such description as they pretty much just a normal pen with fancy barrel or body design. What I see as unique must also include the most important part of the pen, the pen part itself. The pre war Aurora Dual Pen probably can be termed so

"buy it now" for $325,000. For that price, you'd think they'd include free shipping but, no, that's another $96.

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

Someone on here made a pretty unique pen with sterling silver/gold spiders, and also precious stones on it, and it was absolutely stunning.

For the life of me I can't remember who it was.

It made the Istos Arachnis look naff.

A real one off.

It seems like that may have been Shawn Newton, but I'm not positive.

Uniqueness is a function of granularity of analysis.

Eh? No-one told me there were parties?

I am interpreting "Uniquely made" as "Singular", without any consideration whatsoever regarding beauty, elegance, lack of taste, or practicality. Considering this, I would say:

About almost of Michel Audiard's pens:

Cesar's fountain pen:

the singularly unique pen that I vividly recall started with a startling loss...

then a repair that many of us thought added character that enhanced its beauty.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
