Hello, Everyone. Kind greetings from Madrid ! Have been a fountain pen user for years, but have only just decided to join this great site after a long time of reading the very good posts uploaded.

I can´t be really considered a collecter, rather a hard-core daily user . I own a Mont Blanc Meisterstuck 147, a Waterman Carene and even a 30 year Flaminaire I´m trying to get working again!

The fountain pen I use more oftenly, though, is a pathetic little plastic thing I bought from a WHS Smith store in Doha, which is one hell of a good writer! There´s no indication anywhere in the pen, but I bet it´s manufactured in China. Mind you, for this one that writes brilliantly, I had to throw away another three that were abysmal paper scratchers !

So all these gals take turns coming to the office with me and help me earn a living. I own few pens, but my devotion to them is second to none !

Very happy to be amongst so many nice people that love these marvellous little things that write so beaughtifully !

Welcome !

 

I, too, have one of those "pathetic" little plastic pens. Mine is an old green/black piston-fill pen.

It has no name and no logo. I was told that it is German, likely West German, from the 1960's.

The clip is sound, and it writes like an expensive pen.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off.
