Pelikan M6Xx Series Collection

I am very happy today with the arrival of the final pen of the M6xx series ie. M600 old style black. The M6xx collection is now complete save for the M640 series - which I do not intend to collect all.

I have to admit that some pens were not easy to find but with sheer luck these elusive pens somewhat appeared, for example the tortoises & M630. The M620 collection is now my second time collection as I had previously liquidated them to my regret.

Here are some of the photos of the M6xx series in one whole group & sub-groups. Enjoy.

Regards

Daeng

Amazing collection, something to be proud of :)

Those city editions are becoming so hard to find at sensible prices, and are fabulous writers (I have Stockholm and Berlin). The Ruby is a beautiful material.

That's incredible. Congratulations on achieving your goal. How do you plan to handle future releases; are you going to keep going? There's a new one coming out in a couple of months...

And how did I not know there is a blue striped M605??? Is that still made? I think I need one...

Daeng, that is an absolutely stunning collection! Congratulations, and thank you for sharing. I'm going to screen-cap your pictures and use for my reference and inspiration (as I said elsewhere, when my collection grows up it wants to look like yours).

sirgilbert357, the M605 Blue Stipe is difficult... only one year production if I remember. I've been looking for more than a year for one that is well priced, but alas, no joy. I may have to pay up to have it.

Ugh! Of course I would want one that's hard to find and stupidly expensive...

Impressive collection ! Thanks for sharing.

All this commentary about the M605 Blue stripe has me thinking that there are now two other guys on the hunt for a reasonably priced one, I have the M600 Blue stripe but the gold trim is just not as pleasing to the eye as the rhodium or palladium used on the M605.

There is that, but I've not got the hankering for a tortoise, thankfully, lol.

The Grand Place.....is a grail pen of mine, as soon as my boat 'The Flying Dutchman' comes in.

I do like the light and nimble well balanced 600's. I only have a 605.

There is sure a lot more than I thought! :notworthy1: Congratulations.

*raises hand* And a gal. Although hunt may be too strong a word - "idle lookout" may be more accurate.

Wonderful collection, Daeng. Thank you for sharing the pictures of it. Do you have plans for starting another collection, or will you be that rare variety of collector and rest content? :)

What an impressive and beautiful collection. I love the M6xx pens as well. One of my favorite pens is my M620 Grand Place. Now I'm on the lookout for a Piazza Navona.

Rationalizing pen and ink purchases since 1967.

I am another M6** fan. They are the perfect size for an everyday carry, at least for me. Their nibs grind beautifully to cursive italics and are among my best writers.

Thanks for sharing your amazing collection!

Thank you for the reference. I'm getting more interested in the M60x line. The rarity of some of the releases is curious!

What an amazing collection! Congratulations.

I have the impression that the M600 is the most sought after of the pelikan sizes. It is very difficult to find any of the past SE, and when you find one the price is often more than past SE editions of the M800. So, putting this collection together is really fantastic.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
