Triangle Pen Show

Everything looks really great. You also enjoy EF nibs I see. F-C is always such a warm place to visit and purchase from, aren't they? I love visiting them even if I do not buy anything. Seems like since, in North Carolina, we are all after all home. Looks like you did well. Enjoy! :)

Indeed! They laughed at me as I made about 4 repeat trips back to their table to buy yet another item...

And by the way, it was me you met at the show. It was a pleasure. Sorry to hear you did not have a great experience this time. I have no comparison since this was my first show but I had a great time.

Whenever you are fed up with life, start writing: ink is the great cure for all human ills, as I found out long ago.

Great!

Don't worry, I have done the same with a cover of some wonderful journals which remind me of a Traveler's Journal. I ran my hands along one this time twice as I did about two or three times in Atlanta. I have even purchased a Fauxdora and they are in it nicely and yet I am still dreaming of the one F-C sells. I am not a fan of brown or gray I think, which both appear dull or distressed a bit too much for my taste and that is why I keep waffling. Maybe in the interim or next time. You know, I looked at your avatar when I got back home and thought to myself, this was the gentleman you met. (always trust your first instincts) I am an avid fan of British television, period pieces also and you resemble one of those flashback young pilots in the cockpit of an airplane. So glad, since I did want you to know that I appreciated meeting you very much. Glad we also have in common our nib choice. I do love extra-fine so much. I am glad you enjoyed yourself. I am glad you do not have any others to compare it with as I did many years ago when I went to my first one ever. Former military so you might guess, I still found the journey an adventure which was enjoyable and of course meeting you and buying some more ink which I probably do not need but made up my mind to purchase this time around. It will still be among the highlights of this year so far. I could not decide then (after my first Triangle Pen Show) as now whether this was going to be a most enjoyable passion or one which would find me in the poor house quickly. Well, still kicking, still buying and for the time being still indoors. Hot as heck as you know right now here so what a relief. Greetings to you again and it was wonderful to meet you once again.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
