So It seems that my favourite inks estabilished for now as follows:

1. Sailor Yama Dori

2. Diamine Schubert

3. Diamine Eau De Nil

4. Diamine Steel Blue (which is actually greenest of the bunch)

5. Lamy Petrol Blue

Who else is into Blue-Greens? I'd love to hear some advice on professional BGs, what other good ones are out there?

De Atramentis Pigeon Blue looks to me like the same color as Yama Dori and Eau de Nil - just not as saturated.  I can't think of any others I have experience with.

Graf von Faber Castell Deep Sea Green, which is more a bleu/green rather than a green.

A silent response: it shows you didn't lose anything

Another +1 for the Deep Sea Green, lovely color and very well-behaved.

Robert Oster Deep Sea is my new favorite; was looking for something close to Emerald of Chivor but without the glitter. Robert Oster Aqua looks to be similar; have a sample but haven't tried it yet.

I recommend you have a look at the new Diamine Dark Forest. That's a dark blue-green with fabulous red sheen on some papers.  :)

Just went through my swabs and found some that might fit the bill:

Robert Oster Blue Denim (dark, more blue)

Robert Oster Deep Sea (dark, more green)

Robert Oster Peppermint (medium darkness, more green)

Robert Oster Tranquility (medium darkness, slightly more blue than Peppermint)

Sailor Jentle Miruai (extremely dark, more green)

KWZ Rotten Green (extremely dark, probably equal green/blue)

KWZ Iron Gall Turquoise (very dark, more blue)

Levenger True Teal (medium darkness, more green)

Nagasawa Kobe #44 Sumaura Seaside Blue (medium darkness, more blue)

Noodler's Air Corp Blue-Black (very dark, more blue)

Noodler's Turquoise (fairly dark, more blue)

Pelikan Edelstein Aquamarine (a little light, more blue)

Akkerman #24 Zuiderpark Blue-Green (dark, more blue)

Akkerman Dutch Masters #5 Israel's Zeeblauw (medium to light, more blue)

Bungbox Dandyism (extremely dark, more green)

De Atramentis Black Edition Blue (extremely dark, more blue)

De Atramentis Midnight Blue (very dark, more blue)

De Atramentis Plum (very dark, more blue)

Diamine Teal (dark, more blue...I really don't like this ink at all, but others seem to love it)

Franklin-Christoph Loden (extremely dark, more green...almost identical to Bungbox Dandyism, and 1/3 the price)

GvFC Deep Sea Green (fairly light, equal parts blue/green)

And two others with major caveats:

  • Franklin-Christoph Philadelphia Blue Green (medium darkness, more green) - CAVEAT: No longer made, so it's hard to find
  • Organics Studio Aristotle Iron Gall (medium darkness, equal parts blue/green) - CAVEAT: Very acidic iron gall...this ink EATS steel (not an exaggeration, it actually ate holes through two of my steal nibs in a matter of days). Should be safe in resin/plastic pens with gold nibs and no other metal content whatsoever. It's a very pretty ink, though...if you have the fortitude to put it in a pen.

R&K Verdigris - darker and more on a blue side, but still showing green.
Few reviews of Lamy Petrol referred to similarities between the two.

My swabs have thrown up, in varying degrees of green/blue:

Rohrer and Klingner Verdigris (rich, dark bluer side of things)

Diamine Aqua Lagoon (bright green one)

Noodler's Squeteague (muted)

L'Artisan Pastellier Callifolio Equinoxe (6) (attractive, a little shading)

Diamine Enchanted Ocean (with added sparkles)

Blackstone Sydney Harbour Blue (deep, rich, sheeny)

Hi Ford Prefect,

I'll second the previous two recommendations for R&K Verdigris, (very silky ink, too), and ADD Diamine Twilight.

Hi Anthony,

RKV looks really tasty, I did own Diamine Twilight but gave it away and decided to get Tsuki-Yo instead  :)

Hi Ford,

Yes, Tsuki-Yo is another great ink... I used it for a while and really enjoyed it, but then got away from it for some unknown reason... aahhh, what can you do? So many inks and so little time. :D

- Anthony

PS: IIRC, I think I may have migrated away from it because it takes some effort to flush out... or maybe it was just to try new inks. Who knows?
