Hi

Has anyone any information on a British fountain pen the "SERVUS SUPERB " ? it looks like it could be 1940's - 50's age ? Pen has a "warranted 14 ct gold nib and a clip similar to a Parker arrow. Don't have any photos available as yet. Any help gratefully received !

Even a phone photo would help. The "Servus Superb" doesn't sound like the name of a company, but a description or the name of the pen itself.

 

A Google search turned up zero for me.

it's not a name that appears in Stephen Hull's book. Assume you mean the Canadian Arrow from the '50s - and does the imprint include the word British?

I would say it is of Lang's or Mentmore heritage, with the nib suggesting that it is an early Summit S175 made for a third party. As you say, post war up to about 1950

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
