-I've looked at pen pouches at Montblanc.com, but it seems like most are made for classique or Le Grand. Not one of them says that it will fit a 149...

I thought so in the beginning, but I haven't bought any over the years that didn't fit the 149.

However, I would have to say that if it is a 2-4 pen pouch, fitting all the slots with just 149s may make it a very tight or uncomfortable fit.

I have one some around somewhere that took 3 pens, including the 149.

Stopped toting it around at the fear that losing it meant 3 pens would be gone.

Losing one is bad enough, or THINKING I did for 15 minutes of panic.

this is it, this'll cure your woes with the 149...

I use the MB sleeve or the hard case for my 149s and they work perfectly. I prefer the sleeve for ease of use. Here are some photos of how they fit. Hope this helps with your search and decision.

Did not realize the pen sleeve fit the 149. Will have to give it a try. Thanks.

I use the pen sleeve for almost any of my MBs. The website says its for the Classique and LeGrand, but I use it for almost every MB pen I own. The only one that doesn't fit is my Leonardo da Vinci and John Lennon due to their clip designs.

I purchased the more expensive Indigo Blue Sartorial snap hard case for my Ultra Black recently and I still prefer the sleeve. It is such a convenient pen storage option. I may get a few more of them actually. They are great!

Does it have to be Montblanc? Aston makes some really fine leather, 3 pen sleeve that easily hold 149's. They also now have a pen wrap (roll) that holds 5 pens, I have two 149's, a 146, a 1912 Heritage and a Platinum 3776 in mine. They are absolutely perfect, beautifully made and rugged. They are all I use now. Black and Brown.

I thought maby the size of the 149 would expand the sleeve :)

I have a Sartorial 2-pen zip pouch and it does fit a 149, although it is a tight fit, and it is some work to keep it from scraping against the metal zipper teeth. I don't think you could fit two.

It seems like the Siena is very appropriate. I will take a closer look next week when I pick up my new 149 :)

Is the Westside pouch leather inside or there is some weird abrasive lining as usual?

Seeking a Parker Duofold Centennial cap top medallion/cover/decal.
My Mosaic Black Centennial MK2 lost it (used to have silver color decal).

Preferably MK2. MK3 or MK1 is also OK as long as it fits.
Preferably EU.

I know this is a bit of a thread necro, but I seriously wish I had come across this post earlier. I love pen sleeves for their simplicity and compactness. I bought the hard case pictured above because everyone said the 149 does not fit the sleeve. I found the hard case too big; the pen danced in it. Then I somehow stumbled upon this post and went ahead and bought the sleeve anyway. First day was tight, but now, second day already, it stretched and it fits the 149 *perfectly*. It's exactly what I wanted for pen protection and I can't tell you how happy I am you posted this.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
