Hi all,

Made these last week, love the brown, less enthusiastic on the bleu one…..

What do you think ?

Francis

Hi all,

Given the material pattern is not equal all around I've added a second picture.http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h89/fountainbel/Fountainbel%20Bulk%20filler/373c0d43-8021-4976-9243-e22ec8e9e603.jpg[/url

The Blue one has sort of Scale feeling going on. Almost like a blue fish or lizard. Kind of cool.

I actually like the blue one.. I think you previously made a similar patterned one with less prominent contrast and in green that was really nice.

edit: my mistake the previous one was in red.

I like them both. The blue one looks "fun" and the brown one looks sophisticated. I'm growing covetous of all these pens existing without being available for purchasing. :(

I like the blue one over the brown one.

I've seen the red version IRL and I think blue and red are wonderful in showing the print. But... de gustibus et coloribus...

I prefer the colour of the blue pen and the pattern of the brown pen.

I also like the pattern of the red pen that you showed us a while back.

Glad to see a Kingsize LE pen finally make it into production.....keep 'em coming!

I like both, although the blue may be more fit for the regular size Conid, makes it fun and more affordable

As others commented, the blue one gives the impression of scales. I think that pattern would be fantastic in a green or maybe even a dark blue. Like dragon scales. I'd buy one. I need another Conid in my life! My Cappuccino is lonely!

Both are quite nice looking. The brown one has my vote though. What is the material, nib and size?

I'd take the blue one. The overall effect is quite pleasing and there are several inks that I love, which would match it (if only you could part with it, which is never the case ;-). The brown has interesting details but somehow the colour fails to appeal to me. As for inks, I'd probably only use black in it.

Never expected the bleu one would be preferred over the brown one, glad I've asked !

Thanks you all for your encouraging comments, much appreciated !

Francis, when the time comes one of your Conid pens will be mine, I'm saving up for one now. I have a picture of the FPN Blue Pearl taped to the wall above my computer, I can't afford one of those, but I also like the demonstrators you have, so I will happily console myself with one of those. :)

So space and time are linked together. As we are looking across space, we are looking back in time. The further and further away those stars are the further back in time you are looking. Now you are seeing a star that is say six thousand years ago. Imagine somebody at that star looking at us They would be seeing us as we were six thousand years ago. And be assured our demonstrator will not disappoint you either !

It's funny how different the material patterns are on the alternate views of these pens: I really like the brown pattern on the upper picture, but on the lower picture I don't like the pattern at all on brown. The patterns both appear interesting yet different on the blue pen, but I like the color less than the brown.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
