Hello Everyone,

Does anybody know if Romillo Pens is still in business and taking orders?

I sent him an email a few weeks back but never got a response.

Thanks in advance!

Same here, I tried to contact him several times but never got any answer.

When I had ordered a pen from him in past times he had been answering quickly.

Greetings,

Michael

I seem to recall several people who had to try multiple times - perhaps he has an overprotective junk filter. Romillo is a pen I've promised myself on that far-off day that I will be able to afford it. I do hope they haven't joined Omas :(

How long ago? I understand Spain is pretty much closed from Maundy Thursday through Easter Monday.

last year. October or so... several times....

I emailed him back in August of 2016 to find out his prices and he replied fairly quickly back then... Unfortunately it looks like I may have taken too long to order

HOORAY! I e-mailed and heard right back. They're in business and in fact have a lot of work! Keep trying --

Good news, everybody!

I replied with a link to this thread in case he wants to get in touch with any of you individually --

Hello,

Any updates on whether Romillo Pens is still accepting orders? I have been trying to contact them for quite some time now. Any leads would be highly appreciated.

Regards

My last communication with him was on Apr 28, 2017, when he asked me to submit an order form.

I assume he is still in business, and likely has a large back log.

You may want to try emailing him periodically until he replies.

Hello,

Thanks for your response. I will keep trying. Just my luck that both of my favorite pen makers, Tom Westerich and Alvaro don't respond to email  . Did he email you his latest catalog with customizing options and prices?

He had sent them to me previously so I am not sure if they have changed. But I can send you what I have.

PM me your email address and I can forward them to you.

  • 5 weeks later...

Wanted to see if I could get a K nib from them and they haven't replied back to a couple of emails I sent. Just assumed they were out of business. Good to see that some other members had responses, but I'm going to wait until they can get someone working on their email backlog before I send an order.

Hello,

I got a response from Domingo and placed an order a few weeks back. They seem to be in business but do seem to have a full mailbox. I would keep emailing them from time to time and wait for a response.

I spoke to him a few months back about one of his custom pens. I thought that he had finalized the transaction. I have been emailing him since about how he would like me to transfer the payment for the project. He has not responded yet. If he has changed his mind, an email from him would have helped me better allocate and prioritize pen funds in the last few months instead of holding on to them in the expectation that I will be required to make a large payment to him.

Such are the joys of this hobby :)

P.S: Do update us on your latest acquisitions from Tom, whenever convenient.

Tom is easy to reach on Facebook, too.

Yup, So I have heard.

Sadly I am not on Facebook.

Torn about joining it just for Fountain pens (there I just committed heresy, Forgive me O Lord of the Inks :D )

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
