Twsbi Mini- Cap Came Off

I wonder why… Has this happened to anyone?

I think I can still use it, if it doesn't leak when on the side.

How do I proceed to complain?

Thanks!

Be careful: Just grabbed it to pull it out from the pen case.

I used the email used in FPN to reach TWSBI and they are sending a replacement cap for $4, which is probably the cost of shipping. Very prompt response. Let's see how long is takes to reach USA.

It really seemed like it would take a lot of force to break the cap that way. I am happy they are sending you a new one!

It ships from the US and won't take long to get to you. I know from experience. My TWSBI Mini broke the cap on the same place without any force...Just the way the clip puts pressure on the cap. Great pen, nonetheless.

Mr Philip Wang from TWSBI expressed the same idea that it would require great force to break it. I had to repeat several times it did not require any extraordinary force. It's good to know someone else has experienced this same defect without exerting undue Force. I had known they are prone to crack so I treat TWSBI pens very delicatelly and I have 5, counting this one. Never had a crack and this one was barely used. Thank you for the information!

I also had the same thing happen and not from undue force being applied. Mine was replaced very quickly for $4.00 or $5.00.

Thanks for the info. There must be some others with the same problem. It's really annoying and I now understand that there is little solid structure below the cap-clip joint to support them, so it can brake easily.

If anyone has experienced such failure of the TWSBI mini, please add here. It's good to know.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
