Hi All - my first PIF on this forum. I would like give out a 10 vials samples to anyone who is coming to this event from Outside of Illinois. Just a token for visiting us :) In the post, please let me know where you are coming from.

Just reply to this thread and the 1st member to reply gets it. I will be there on Sunday May 7th but can stop by to drop it off on Saturday May 6th. If for any reason I cannot show up (let's say sickness or such or if I have travel for work) then I will ship this to your address at no cost to you.

The vials are the same that you get from Anderson pens - I will fill 4 - 6 ml each vial. Below are the inks to choose from (one of each only please). Please give me couple of extra options in case I have run out of any of the below.

I don't want anything back except (optional) prayers for my handicapped daughter.

Hi Inkinbrushes - thanks for responding. just wanted to confirm you are coming to the upcoming Chicago pen show in May correct from another state? If so, please let me know which 10 inks you would like to have and I will get the Vials ready.

Hi Inkinbrushes,

If you are not planning to be at the Chicago Pen Show, please allow me to pass this on to someone else? If you are going to be there .... I have sent you a PM, let me know via that or post here which inks you would prefer .. and when what day (possibly all days) are you going to be at the show .

Regards.

I haven't heard back from inkinbrushes, so would like to open up the offer again for someone else who is coming to the Chicago Pen show ... especially from outside of Illinois. If there is no one coming from outside ... if you are in Illinois, reply too and I will find some empty vials for you too.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
