No comments, other than that I love the drawings comments, and I am ecstatic to have gotten my first letter out on the snail mail thread.

I run on Caffeine, Sarcasm and inappropriate thoughts.

I have to say even if I were to receive one, I don't think I would be able to match the appealing nature of your handwriting Ian.

That's very gracious of you.

It's all about just having a bit of fun though, and trying out new, or different stuff. :D

Ian, that's great to know. I used up most of the ink. I'm sending out stuff a little at a time. If someone is totally new, I'm sending out paper and some CRVs. Once I see that you are participating, I will send pen ann ink.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Create a Ghostly Avatar and I'll send you a letter. Check out some Ink comparisons: The Great PPS Comparison

Don't know where to start?  Look at the Inky Topics O'day.  Then, see inks sorted by color: Blue Purple Brown Red Green Dark Green Orange Black Pinks Yellows Blue-Blacks Grey/Gray UVInks Turquoise/Teal MURKY

Amberlea,

Hello from Henderson :-) I would volunteer to participate, but I'm unsure what a CRV is, perhaps you can enlighten me?

I'm game to give it a go. As I'm new to this type of exchange, I don't expect goodies, but I would love to at least take part in the CRV portion.

I would like to participate. I have TR and pens and ink, and I would be happy to start a new CRV since I'm new.

I received the package today. It has 15 pages for me to read through. The nib on that Jinhao x750 must be an old model, the #6 JinHao nibs I have are all much slimmer at the shoulder and also with more 'rounded'. This is quite an imposing nib and the stub grind is very different from how I grind mine. I'll work an a Jinhao X450 today for the return package that shall be my 9th grind.

For those that are on the fence. Do it! Having done CRV's a number of times, it is worth the effort.

I am always up for them. But Amber knows this....

Hey Amber,

I received mine and sent it back (i don't have a scanner, and my phone had terrible color reproduction).

It was so much fun.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
