Noodler's Pocket Clip Finish Issue

I received a Noodler's Konrad about a week ago. I love the pen, but I noticed today that some of the finish/plating on the clip had come off. It likely came this way, as the pen hasn't been anywhere but on top of my desk since I got it (haven't carried it anywhere, hasn't been in a bag or pocket, hasn't been dropped, etc.). Has anyone else experienced this? Can you get a replacement clip for a Noodler's pen?

At the price point of these pens, it's not the end of the world, and doesn't affect the function of the pen, but it's still a little annoying.

I don't think Wolverine had to be so harsh, but I have to say I agree. This isn't something worth losing sleep over, Unfortunately the human mind often latches onto things, so it might take some time for you to move on from this, but believe me, you will.

Let me clarify. I'm not losing sleep over a fountain pen pocket clip. It isn't weighing on my mind all day. I happened to notice it, snapped a pic and figured I'd ask if anyone else had seen the same thing. It hasn't stopped me from using or enjoying the pen (I do enjoy it, quite a lot actually). I understand that it's a relatively inexpensive pen, but I don't think that bars it from discussion here.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go start a thread about how I don't like the way this pen smells.

(That's a joke. I'm not going to do that. I can just comment in one of the dozens of other Noodler's-pen-odor threads.) ;)

I'm with wolverine 1, btb. It's nice that you've got something that you can actually write with (and this is more than I've ever got out of Noodlers), but expecting the cosmetics to work as well is asking for the moon on a stick.

Thankfully, Noodler's response wasn't, "You bought a cheap pen, get over it." I contacted them through their website asking if it would be possible to get a replacement clip, and they're sending one free of charge. Obviously not everyone thinks highly of their product, but their customer service gets an A+ in my book.

I think Noodler's pens are neat, especially their nibs. If only they didn't smell :/

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
