The last couple of Hubs have been in late September. Late September is about 6 months from now -- I don't recall how soon information about the Hubs was posted to the Pelikan website in past years.

The first year I went to one, I brought one of the small Pelikan pen stands (gold glaze) to preside over the festivities in the Pittsburgh Hub. Last year, that was joined by a mini "Lucky Cat" (complete with battery powered moving arm ). This year, assuming that there is one in Pittsburgh again, I will *also* have the small white Pelikan pen stand I got at Christmastime on my somewhat yearly pilgrimage to Fountain Pen Hospital. B)

I started seeing something around May lady year, so I did not want to miss it. And it's not too far from May.

It would be nice to have the Dallas Hub coincide with the Dallas Pen Show, as happened year before last, but that was just a happy accident.

Rationalizing pen and ink purchases since 1967.

The 2015 event was announced on May 12th. The 2016 event was announced on May 31st. I'd say that if they keep to the same time line, you should be hearing about it sometime this month but no news is available yet.

I will miss being at one. I was the inaugral Toronto Hub Meister but being in Saskatoon and Regina i believe the two cities combined lack the population to be a hub city. Have fun everyone.

Rob Maguire (Plse call me "M or Mags" like my friends do...)I use a Tablet, Apple Pencil and a fountain pen. Targas, Sailor, MB, Visconti, Aurora, vintage Parkers, all wonderful.

I'd recommend that if you want your town to be a hug, have your entire club register the first few days and make sure someone volunteers to run it (be a hub master). :)

I'm trying to create a new hub in Salt Lake City, UT. Hopefully there are enough like minded people in the area to get something started.

Registered and suggested Orange County California.

I did the same. As much as I enjoyed the LA Hub last year I don't think I'm up for 4 hours driving in traffic again.

I'll have to do some reading on what all is involved; hopefully there's one in Columbus. Cincinnati's on the list, but I don't drive.

Registered! This time I specifically picked San Jose CA rather than be "generalized" to Bay Area...though last year's Hub in San Fran did have a wonderful presentation by "Mr. Pelikan" Rick Propas!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
