Exacompta Journeys Notebook Availability?

Hello all.

I know this is a long shot, but I will ask anyway.

I understand that Exacompta Journeys Notebooks have been discontinued, but I am curious...

Has anyone seen any of them around? I'm specifically looking for the 6x8 size, with the leather cover embossed with various symbols and marks.

I have one now, that I'm just about to start using, but I'm hesitating as I somehow know this might be the last one I will ever see....

Any sightings out there somewhere, or, does maybe someone have one they would be willing to part with?

I'd probably get several if I could.

I'm just about to finish a Moleskine journal, which I have had a love/hate relationship with. I've used them for years, but, the paper quality seems to vary wildly, no matter where I buy them.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Dave

Since you mentioned, the ubiquitous brand of journals not made for fountain pen, I suggest Rhodia Webnotebooks.

Rhodiaramas are Webnotebooks with color covers and the same 90g ivory vellum paper, super smooth, acid-free, pH neutral.

You can not go wrong with Rhodia, Clairefontaine or Exacompta paper, all the products have been made with fountain pen friendly paper since their creation.

Below is the page that shows Exaclair entire notebook line.

I have used Rhodia notepads for what seems like, forever, and know the quality of the paper first hand.

I am a big fan but, I am not affiliated with them.

Thanks for the heads- up on these options available.

I too have used Clairefontaine papers, along with numerous Rhodia pads.

There is just something that I fell in love with the first time I picked up that specific Exacompta Journey notebook. I think it's the size and weight I love. The simple leatherette cover, along with the Clairefontaine paper helps as well! Only a fellow fountain pen/journal user/ink lover could utter the words, "It just feels right to me", and totally get it. Silly as it sounds, it's that way with this journal, for me anyway. It's probably why I bought it in the first place, and why I stashed it for later use. I should know better by now.

We should buy things to use, and not just admire and look at. Nothing, maybe, is that precious. The pleasure comes in the use, no?

But that's a subject for another discussion....

I'll continue my search. In the meantime, I'll probably seek out a few options that you've mentioned. Buying this stuff in Portland, Oregon, is harder than one might think. Most of the time, you just happen upon it by accident. There is still only one, easily accessible, higher end stationary store here, that carries most things in one place (paper, pens, etc.), that doesn't charge an arm and a leg for most things...

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
