Pilot Knight And Ink Pif

Vargouille

Recommended Posts

I'm offering up an Pilot Knight fountain pen with a medium nib (red finish) for anyone interested in a decent enough starter pen. Nib is so-so, and it comes with the lower quality "CON-20" converter. The cap doesn't seal incredibly well, so if you let it sit for too long it can dry out.

I'm also offering up an ink sample (5 mL) to go along with this. You can pick one of:

- Noodler's Heart of Darkness

- Noodler's Polar Blue

- Noodler's Nikita

- Noodler's Baystate Blue

- Noodler's Blue American Eel

- Montblanc Royal Blue

- Pelikan Royal Blue

- Chesterfield Night Sapphire (I think this is repackaged Diamine Blue-Black)

Post in this thread saying which ink you'd be interested in and I'll pick someone on Wednesday, April 26 and mail it out as soon as I can. Only available to CONUS addresses

I'd love to give it a shot and I bet the Noodlers Polar blue would look great with it.

Thanks for the awesome PIF!

I am interested in this pen. personally, I don't have a red pen yet and would like to be considered for this PIF. I also am lacking a red ink in my small collection so would like to ask for the Noodler's Nikita.

Not entering, but I recommend the Knight to anyone who likes the Metro. The nib is the same, but I like the styling of the Knight much more. The only issue, as the offer points out, is a tendency to dry out with disuse.

I would love to give it a try along with a sample of Noodler's Nikita ink.

I am working up a series of reviews of FP's at different levels and it would be nice to compare it to the MR, Lamy Al Star, and the ECO.

In any case thanks for sharing!

Thank you for offering this up.

Please add my name to the hat. My preferred ink would be Noodler's heart of darkness. I would pass this along to my niece, who is a great artist and is taking up writing. She loves art supplies, and puts them to excellent use, and it may be time to introduce her to the world of fountain pens.

Hi there! May I please be included as well? I would love to try Noodler's Polar Blue.

I am the tarot reading, bookworm, whiskey drinking, witchcraft practicing, old fashioned writing, aunt Beasty in my family and I love it. Tarot readings for sale or trade, especially ink as I've lost all of my pen stuff from a bad burglary last year. And I need penpals! Anyone interested, please PM me!

The random number generator has picked svilardo2 as the winner for this giveaway!

Thank you for your participation, and I will be PIF'ing another pen once I can empty out a sample vial.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
