Sorry.. I just saw your question. Yes, Wonderpens will ship internationally and they usually get the Lamy ink at least a month before the US.

Doesn't look like they will ship outside Canada, as I can't select any other country...it says "First, select country" with the only option as Canada. It seems you have to send an email to get a shipping quote.

Ooops, yes you do. I read that somewhere and totally forgot. To be honest, I rather ask for a shipping quote from a person than let a calculator do it for me. I know I had very interesting quotes from some e-stores calculators. I always end up emailing anyway. ;)

I can confirm that some Canadian shops have ink. I received a bottle Monday this week from Wonder Pens in Toronto.

I had to go to Cult Pens & order a bottle. Then had to order a pen to get the free shipping. Just got an order from them this week-2 pens & 6 bottles of ink. It only took a week to arrive.

I ordered mine from stiloestile2004, an Italian seller on ebay. Ink was very reasonable @ $10 US but standard shipping was almost as much as the ink. Estimated 3 weeks delivery.

Hi all,

Well... here yesterday... gone today. As of 8 am this morning, it's already "Sold Out" at Vanness.

I opted to get a bottle of it's twin sister, (R&K Verigris), and call it a day. I'm tired of playing Lamy's game of Tease, Hide and Seek with all of their LE inks. :D

Amen! I only order some cartridges when they come out. If they don't want to sell ink to us, then fine. Their decision.

I've given up on the Petrol ink as well. I have a bottle of Noodler's Squeteague that, while bluer than the Petrol pen, is still a really good match and satisfies my need for a dark teal ink.

I agree and after the debacle of last year with Dark Lilac (a local shop had 2 boxes of carts and that's the last Lamy purchase I've made in a long while), I don't chase limited edition and will patently refuse to participate. I like the Petrol pen - I won't ever buy it.

Despite my original love/hate with Lamy, I own many Safaris and Al-Stars. After the Dark Lilac, the only Lamy purchase I've made was my 2000. It wasn't from a retailer or Lamy but instead a gently used pen (a buy and return I suspect).

Hi, again, all,

Yes. It is a real shame that Lamy has chosen to sell their LE inks like the practical jokers who tie a string around a wallet on April Fools Day.

Frankly, I have better things to do with my time than to chase an ink bottle with a string tied around it, down the street.

If you're going to do a LE ink; then at least do it like others have done... where the consumer at least has a fighting chance to get the ink they're after.

Fortunately, we are living in the Golden Age of Inks and we're blessed with more ink options than ever before... perhaps TOO MANY.

(WHAT?!! Who spoke those vile words?!).

Thank you for the "heads-up" CA49, but they're out again. :(

Congrats on snagging a bottle- enjoy. :)

The cartridges are available on Amazon.co.uk, if anyone is desperate they could always decant them.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
