Hi guys-

I wanted to share my great experience with ros7261.

They have ebay store specialized in vintage pens, run by Jim and Sharon.

First of all, photos of their ebay listings are high quality and show their confidence in restoration skills and customer services.

The photos show details of each pen from different angles.

I saw 1944 Parker Vacumatic with golden pearl stripes on their listings and won the bid. The pen looked near mint on the photos.

Immediately after I paid, they sent me a message that they would ship the pen right away.

Three days later (today) I received the pen, well-secured inside the box it came in.

The actual pen looks amazing and is just gorgeous.

The golden stripes are vivid and the barrel is transparent as it should be.

I put in Diamine Sepia to match the color of the pen.

When I started writing with the pen, I couldn't believe how smooth this fine nib was. Smoother than my Montblanc Meisterstuck 144 from 1994.

I am supposed to work tonight, but just cannot put down the pen.

I really appreciate this pen and the restoration effort that ros7261 put in.

I highly recommend them.

p.s. I am not affiliated with ros7261 and am not paid to write review :)

I too have bought from ros7261. He does excellent work. I make it my business to check in on his site periodically to see what pens he's been working on. One of the best pen restoration guys around.

I agree. His work is exceptional.

The vacumatic I got has become my daily writer for its smooth fine nib.

Such a fine instrument for writing markups with small letters all day.

Dream, take one step at a time and achieve. :)

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
