I usually like these bricky, less shouty reds, but this one has so much shading that it gets a little busy on the page when trying to read big blocks of text written in it.

 

Which defeats the purpose of why I buy subtler shades of red like this.

Loving this red! Especially if it is what people say that it's more orange-red than Oku-Yama's purple-red. I've always liked Oku-Yama, but feel that it would be better if it was a more neutral-red.

 

Thanks for the review! I have to say, you are one of my favourite ink reviewers. There is something about your handwriting that makes it easy to appreciate the quality of the inks. :notworthy1:

These images look a lot like Akane. Cyber6, can you compare the two and let us know?

 

 

From the top of my head.. I will say this is more "purpluish" than Akane. Akane has more orange, this has more pink.. But Yeah, I can compare. I just need to get home. :P

 

 

The sheen is very Akane'ish. :wub: :wub:

Not at all like Akane, except in sheen. Will try to post a comparison soon.

 

 

Naotora was inspired by the historical figure. The release of a Taiga drama may have prompted its creation but I think it is an ink made for their new boutique in Omotesando along with Omotesando Blue.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
