Whitelines Paper And App

I recently came across 'Whitelines', a fantastic mix between digital and analog note-taking; below are my thoughts:

Imgur Album: http://imgur.com/a/xoT5H

This paper is designed to be scanned using the 'Whitelines Link' app for Android and iOS, the app works out the perspective and orientation the paper is being 'scanned' from using the 4 anchor points around the page.

The app is great for organising notes as you can colour code and create digital booklets by adding pages to an existing scan.

A feature I enjoy is the way in which the documents can be uploaded (to Evernote or Dropbox) or emailed; by crossing one, or all, of the boxes at the bottom of the page (hard to see in the picture, sorry!) - the application will automatically recognise this and carry out the desired task; of course, you can always upload and share these at a later time in any way that you want.

As you can see in the imgur link, the paper had no ghosting or feathering, but some bleed (I was using Yama Dori). - if you like the concept but are put off by the performance, they also have templates so you can print it on whatever paper you like.

If you want to find out more, or try some for yourself, checkout whitelines.se!

I got the whitelines sample pack, too! I was completely surprised when I came home and found a huge package on my doorstep. They sent me an entire A5 spiral bound lined notebook, a full pack of loose leaf 3 hole grid paper, and a big staple top-bound jot pad in grid. I haven't tried the app yet, but this paper is great! No feathering, just barely specks of bleed through, and no ghosting.

I am the tarot reading, bookworm, whiskey drinking, witchcraft practicing, old fashioned writing, aunt Beasty in my family and I love it. Tarot readings for sale or trade, especially ink as I've lost all of my pen stuff from a bad burglary last year. And I need penpals! Anyone interested, please PM me!

I'm loving it. Didn't bother with the app, but love the paper.

I like the concept, but I can't get the good paper in Aus.

I print the whitelines template onto blank Kokuyo Campus refill paper and use it that way.

I have written elsewhere on the FPN about the Whitelines system.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
