Anyone Ever See A Warranty Card Like This?

I am looking at a local Montblanc being sold, and the owner sent me an image of a warranty card that he has. It looks like this:

Now to be honest, I've never seen anything like it. But to be fair he's selling a set, that comes with leather Montblanc goods too, so maybe this card is for that, I don't know.

I've only ever seen the card that comes with the pen at the back of the service guide booklet.

The seller said that he got it as a present from his company and never used it. Seems like a legit reason at least.

Yes I've seen an authentic warranty card like that :)

Sweet. Thanks Chrissy! Just the confirmation I needed. This was the only thing I felt was fishy. The rest will have to come after seeing the actual pen on Tues!

I believe that anything could serve as a warranty card as long as it is properly dated and stamped by an authorized retailer. Montblanc sends a copy for verification whenever a service or return is required world wide.

Its just that I found it strange... Cause I thought they'd put it at the back of the booklet. So I was thinking this was fishy. Also the "stamp" looked more like a template then a stamp. Without giving the boutique it was purchased from etc. Seller said that it's likely a bulk purchase from the company so perhaps that's why.

It's okay, you often see these when the pen comes directly from Montblanc UK, rather than an individual boutique. In my experience, it is indeed due to it being a corporate purchase.

Ah I see. I made the purchase today. It's a Montblanc 146 Ballpoint, my first ballpoint from Montblanc and the second Ballpoint I own, ever (the first being a Caran d'Ache Leman). A lovely ballpoint to write with. Although I had some skepticism not only cause of the serial number being a little bit lower on the cap band then usual, I also noticed that the pen is lighter then my 146 Rollerball. Is that normal? This pen being cap-less and all.

The Ballpoint is not lighter than the Rollerball.

If you can get pics and post them here, we might be able to help.

I was under the impression that you couldn't see images!

~ It depends on the image.

As I've explained in previous posts, some show, some don't. It may depend on the original source.

In this case, a friend in Europe sent the photos to me by e-mail, as happens with any posts in FPN which I request.

It was nice to see them.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
