The SuperPinks bought these and mixed 'em up and then shared 'em. We had a few vials left over and we sold those to support ongoing purchases. Be sure to look at the 366+ inks for more samples.

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

I inked up with the Simpson's Red yesterday. It's gorgeous.

Inked up with Visconti Blue Tablet #1. I thought it would be a blue but it's more like a turquoise. A bit less saturated than I'd like.

Just tried the Simpsons Turquoise. It's weird. I used it in a 3.8mm Pilot Parallel and the colour is uneven. Which makes me think this is probably not a dye-based ink.

I would say that it is totally dye based ink. The company was a dye company and the inks were an offshoot (as I recall). Now, how it mixes or stays in solution is a different matter.

I have used the Simpsons' ink powders (Black, Blue and Red). I didn't have any problems mixing or using it, or noticing any irregularity. I did use distilled water, though. ($4 2 litre bottle from the local compounding chemist)

As a coincidence: Last year when you sent all of us all those samples, I mixed the Webster's with the Truink, used it once, and forgot about it. (more or less).

Last week I came across it again and dipped a pen and wow! seems it has concentrated a little, it seemed much better than the bleh I remembered. I now have it in my new Lotus Vikrant and it's not bad at all! I don't really know what I'd call it though. Blue black does  not really cover it...
