Pelikan Souverän 800 Renaissance Brown

This special edition was designed with a completely new color combination: Extraordinary, pearl-like ribbons of color in the brown, acrylic material reveal fine nuances of light and shadow.

This aesthetically pleasing juxtaposition symbolizes a typical characteristic of Renaissance painting, making it an homage to the masterpieces painted by the period’s greatest artists.

The rings and clip are elegantly decorated with 24-carat gold.

The two-tone, 18-carat gold nib is optionally available in nib sizes EF, F, M and B. A ballpoint pen to match this beautiful fountain pen is also featured in our range.

This pen will be available in May.

I'll wait until I see non-marketing pictures of the pen but in general I'm a sucker for pretty brown pens.

That *is* pretty.... :puddle: But M800s are too big for my hand, so I can safely walk away. ("Move along, move along, nothing to see here, pay no attention to the man behind the curtain, these are not the droids you're looking for....")

  Didn't think I'd like this one, but it has forcefully taken grasp of my soul. Sigh! And to think I was saving up for something else later this year :lticaptd:

Beautiful - but a little similar to the Grand Place, no? Admittedly there are streaks of blue in the GP, whereas the RB looks to be more purely brown. The flecked acrylic of thr RB has a more 'retro' look than the pearlescent swirls of the GP.

I am very tempted...but also worried about falling down the very expensive M800 rabbit hole!

Inspired by the carpet installed in your den in the 1970s, the new Pelikan...

Need to see more photos, but it could be quite interesting.

It is nice to see the photos & I greatly appreciate Novelli Pens for making them available.

It instantly reminds me of one of the older Conway Stewart pens. I also am a sucker for Brown pens & feel confident it would be a great writer since it is a m800. Perhaps this will satisfy some of the demand for the extinct Tortoise in that size?

Hahaha...how many M800's do you have?

I can't believe I don't have one yet...

Dream, take one step at a time and achieve. :)

I love my M800, have one inked now, but this colour does not interest me at all. I understand that I am in the minority here. :)

Stay away from them while you can! They're instantly addictive and if you buy one, before you realize, there will be a bunch of them in your pen drawer!

I'm in it with you, if it's any comfort. I'm utterly underwhelmed at the present time. What's always interesting (and a bit embarrassing) is to see how much I'll be influenced by other people oooing and aahing over it so that I reach a point of believing I like it. Doesn't always happen, but it can.

I find it very meh. It's just a standard m800 but in yet another different colour. Wake me up when you have a fresh new and attractive design.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
