did your pen come with a gold fine nib?

No, I had a #6 14k Boch gold nib laying around and it worked perfectly with the 700r's feed. I did change it back to the 1.1 stub for my wife to use.

sorry for the typo - actually the pen cost me \ $65.00!!!!

thanks for the updated information. My first thought after reading the $20.00 was I need at least two of those. LOL

I've been writing with this pen for a few months and like most things about it. One thing I don't like is that mine burps badly. It does so when about 3/4 of the ink reservoir has been depleted. I've had burpers before, but not one that burps with so much ink remaining.

Have others experienced this?

I have not see the issue with my 700R or my two eye dropper filled pens so I might be a good person to know.

A beautiful and dependable pen I must say, you will enjoy it. I have had two of these babies in my collection since 2014, and they still work flawlessly -(may I add that one has been inked consistently for three years with my own mix of Bordeaux red iron gall ink?) Perhaps one of the most reliable pens in it's price category and arguably well above it.

Contact twisbi customer service, or pull the nib and feed out and check that it has been aligned properly. That is most likely the issue at play here. In my experience I have used these pens for three years with iron gall red inks without issue. As reliable as the Visconti 'power filler' mechanisms. Both are very similar.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
