There are a lot of factors in value; does it have a new sac, has it been restored in any way, are there scratches, cracks, plating loss and of course, does will it write without needing nib work? If it has considerable issues as listed above it's value might be around $50 if you are very fortunate. Restored, fully working and in excellent order, perhaps $150. I have seen them go for more than this, but it's usually little more than bidding frenzy rather than a pens actual worth. Beware of checking ebay as a price index; a lot of dreadful junk is sold there at horribly inflated prices and it is possible to see the same pens listed over and over by the same seller after they have been sold - probably because they have been returned for a refund by the buyer.

The cheapest lessons are from those who learned expensive lessons. Ignorance is best for learning expensive lessons.

If the seller said the sac has been replaced I would be inclined to pass.

I saw one in the same color in beautiful polished restored condition last weekend at a the Arkansas Pen show for over $300. However at the end of the show it had not sold at that price, but high end vintage pens didn't move very well that weekend.

      I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

      Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
