Unbelievable!

At the time of posting this there have been already 48 bids on this piece of rubbish.

The brazenness within the description makes me speechless. At least they say "iridium point" as the imprint on the nib. How can one bid more than 5 bucks on this?!?

Hi

You seem to have pasted this forum's 'start new topic' link into your post instead of the link to the auction lot.

Did you mean this one?

If you look at the seller's history, he/she is not a regular seller of pens and may not know about fake MBs. I sometimes send such people a friendly note pointing out the risk to their rating etc. The tone of the response I receive determines whether I report the item or not.

What can you do? If you report it to ebay, they don't do anything.

And if one reports the misuse of the trade mark and name to Montblanc, they don't do anything either.

Yup. Another FYI. But also reported it simply because bidding has reached ridiculous levels.

Well, the best part is it will be mailed to the winner in a flat rate envelope...perhaps it will die a postal death.

So if you miss winning this one, console yourself with this JFK... or a Starwalker...

So sad to read this post and see the listing on my eBay feed. The quality of some of the resin fakes hitting the market as of late have been getting harder and harder to distinguish from the authentic ones. This particular one isn't one of them. Of all the pens I've purchased on eBay, I've been taken once I a bait and switch.

I got this message back from her (?) very quickly.

My message included the hope that she did not originally pay a lot for the pen.

So let's see what happens next.

Why not everyone here send a reminder to the seller that it is not a real MB? That would make an impact!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
