Guinness Storehouse Lease From 1759

Hey everyone,

 

Thought you might like this one, was at the Guinness storehouse in Ireland this weekend, the lease was behind a protective glass and to keep it under good conditions, on closer look - I noticed there's a really graceful style.

 

From wikipedia:

"Arthur Guinness started brewing ales in 1759 at the St. James's Gate Brewery, Dublin. On 31 December 1759, he signed a 9,000 year lease at £45 per annum for the unused brewery.^[7][8][9] Ten years later, on 19 May 1769, Guinness first exported his ale: he shipped six-and-a-half barrels to Great Britain."

Is the 9,000 year lease still valid?

 

The 9,000 year lease signed in 1759 was for a four-acre brewery site. Today, the brewery has expanded to cover over 50 acres. The 1759 lease is no longer valid as the company purchased the lands outright many years ago. So don't worry, we're not planning on going anywhere.

Interesting hand, sort of Copperplate becoming Spenserian. Easy to read, fairly fast to write. And lovely. Thanks!
