Pif : Lamy Al-Star 1.9 Stub Steel Nib

Recommended Posts

I want to give away this Lamy Al-Star with 1.9 steel stub nib out of my personal collection . Gradually trying to prune and limit my number. I have got enough pleasurable experience and learning from this great forum / fellow FPN ers. Now I think its pay back time for me.

The pen is in excellent condition, almost mint, rarely getting its turn. I have replaced the original B nib by the stub purchased as spare from Lamy authorized dealer over here. The stub nib writes fantastic.

Anyone interested is welcome. No country limit. I will bear shipping , no limit. Pl specifically note again that its a stub nib.

Pics attached for appreciation. I would like to keep the offer open till close of 15th of this month , USA time. Winner will be selected by draw of lot by an independent third party school kid ( there is a school close to my house ).

Due to time constraint I may not able to respond to mails / posting in the interim. Beg excuse for that.

Best of luck.

Pankaj

Hey there,

This is incredibly generous, I've been really hoping for a nice stub nib, plus it's a lamy! That be a step up from my current pen :)

Thank you for considering me for this draw!

If you somehow don't have one already, I'd like to send you a 1.1 nib in exchange. Otherwise, I'd be happy to just receive the 1.9.

I'd like to be considered if that's alright. Stubs are my favorite.

I would like to throw my hat in, but not for me. I work at a school and lost my Eco recently. A kid ended up with it and returned it to me. If you would be willing to add the B nib in, I would like to give it to him. I don't think he could write with that big of a nib, but I could. If not, I would swap out a spare EF or F nib. I'm not sure which one is not my spare.

You are a very generous person. Thank you for all that you do.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
