Pif: Sheaffer Nononsense And School Pens To A Teacher

Recommended Posts

Cleaning up a bit, found a bag of Sheaffer NoNonsense and school pen parts...

Going to a teacher of calligraphy to young students, or an art teacher using fountain pens for sketching: here are 1 italic F, 2 italic M, 2 italic B NoNonsense, and two transparent school pens, both M with 2 extra F nib units.

If there are multiple responses, my wife the teacher will choose...

Thanks!

Tim

Yes,

I'm sorry, should have said...postage costs have gone too high for me to ship overseas on a PIF. So yes, this is just for continental US. Again, my apologies for not saying so earlier. Shipping on Monday...

Jimmy -- yes, that's the deal with PIFs. I get to decide who it goes to, and I believe in teachers teaching handwriting and using pens .

I have other PIFs during the year, not always to the same people.

Hi Tim,

I'm a student and I'm learning calligraphy? I'd love to try out a pen and see how it does? Thank you!

I do quite a bit of sketching and calligraphic practice for fun. I'd love to have an italic fine if you've got enough to go around. Those blue and green bodies are quite nice.

I just wanted to say, my very first FP was a No Nonsense, - I was seven, and very proudly the first kid in my class graduated onto using ink in school (NB: not a way to make friends). My next pen (after I had more or less destroyed the first one by a mix of biting one end and ferociously over-tightening the barrel) was another - a Calligraphy set, with three nibs, F, M, and B, and I loved, loved, loved them, and have them to thank for my continued, lifelong love of pens and writing.

I really hope these give some other kids that sort of a start. You do a great thing with this PIF!

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
