Hello Everyone,

I'm Eric from Illinois and I'm interested in learning more about Fountain Pens and writing paper. I work with leather and always have requests for journal covers so I'm looking to find out more about the types of pens and paper people use in them.  I regularly use Retro 1951 pens but am interested in fountain pens that could be used for sketching. I'm looking forward to reading and learning and also interacting with all of you.

Welcome, Eric !

Sorry to admit that I have zero artistic ability.  Do you inquire about "line" sketches of patterns ?

Sounds like you might have use for very fine line pen.  I think reliable ink flow would be preferred.

My Dad was CPA, and wrote tiny, neat figures in accounting journals.  He go good service from the

1950's Sheaffer pens, with very fine nibs.

That does sound like more of what I'm looking for, as far as outlining goes. The few times I've used fountain pens, I've always seemed to prefer the finer nibs to write with. Are the Sheaffer pens still being made?
