Thank you daeng! It is an M900 Black, M nib. My sweet wife bought me the Ocean Swirl for Christmas which left me room to buy myself this on a Black Friday sale. One of three "grail pens" is now in the box B)

LOVE your K800 Tortoise! Congrats to you too sir!

Thank you. I love the weight of it, and the fineness of the engraving. I got this in Medium because I discovered that was my <least> represented M800 sized nib  I checked it with a loupe, gave it a good rinse, then filled it with Aquamarine... mmmmmm, it's a great writer! I have a couple letters to catch up on and this will be my pen for that. Looking forward to a few pages of "getting to know you, getting to know allll about you".

(pictures tomorrow, perhaps)

A (slightly?) used blue-striped M400; M nib :( but the price was very reasonable :) . It's one of the newer ones with the etched-metal logo, should be here next week.

It's hard work to tell which is Old Harry when everybody's got boots on.

Ocean Swirl with B nib; it's still en route though.

Please Mister Postman (Mister Postman, look and see) Oh yeah
(Is there a letter in your bag for me?) Please Please Mister Postman
(Why's it been a very long time) Oh yeah.

And ... a brand new M400 red-striped! B nib! :( :( But, as it's brand new, I should be able to get a nib exchange through Chartpak.

That's my Xmas shopping sorted.

How about the 2016 SE Grand Place? I love that pen! Or the Burnt Orange from 2015, followed by this year's Ren Brown...

Of course, if you aren't limiting yourself strictly to SE issues, the Stresemann is a wonderful pen as well.

What? No I didn't forget the demonstrators, I just don't like them enough to recommend them :)

Thank you for the recommendations. :)

I'm looking for nice, well-lit pictures of Grand Place before looking for places to buy it from at somewhat reasonable price. But it is on my radar.

About the other 2: Renaissance Brown and Burnt Orange, Renaissance brown was somewhat meh and I bought the Conid Monarch Bulkfiller which is also orange.

I don't like demos either, they are very messy and I have to be extremely careful about inks staining them. :|

I have got exactly the same. Love the B-nib!

It has been a while that I don't post here.

But, there are a few birds flying with the intent of nesting at my house:

- Two M805 Ocean Swirl B

- M605 White Transparent M

- M1000 Green B

- M760 OM

To be honest, the majority is not really flying, but resting at customs for a while...

I hope they break my bad streak with pens (of any brand) lately.

I have the Sailor Naginata and some fancy blade nibs coming after 2022 by a number of new workshop from China.  With all my respect, IMHO, they are all (bleep) in doing chinese characters.  Go use a bush, or at least a bush pen.

It is the reason why I'm so keen on the idea of a personal library — of pens, nibs, inks, paper products, etc. — and spent so much money, as well as time and effort, to “build” it for myself (because I can't simply remember everything, especially as I'm getting older fast) and my wife, so that we can “know”; and, instead of just disposing of what displeased us, or even just not good enough to be “given the time of day” against competition from >500 other pens and >500 other inks for our at

Agreed.  And I think it’s good to be aware of this early on and think about at the point of buying rather than rationalizing a purchase..

Alas, one cannot know “good” without some idea of “bad” against which to contrast; and, as one of my former bosses (back when I was in my twenties) used to say, “on the scale of good to bad…”, it's a spectrum, not a dichotomy. Whereas subjectively acceptable (or tolerable) and unacceptable may well be a dichotomy to someone, and finding whether the threshold or cusp between them lies takes experiencing many degrees of less-than-ideal, especially if the decision is somehow influenced by factors o

I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature. If they are too delicate, or can’t be posted, or they are too precious to face losing , still they are users, but only in very limited environments..  I have a big disliking for pens that have the cap jump into the air and fly off. I object to Pens that dry out, or leave blobs o
