How about the trunk full of letters from The Notebook?  And, the movie is centered around a hand-written journal.

" 1776 "

Just a taste of the letters between John and Abigail Adams.  "Dear Miss Adorable" and, later, "My dearest friend ".  Historically educational, but also, in Eighteenth Century formality, they were passionate love letters.

Auf freiem Grund mit freiem Volke stehn.
Zum Augenblicke dürft ich sagen:
Verweile doch, du bist so schön !

Did anyone see Collateral Beauty?

YES! I was just going to post it, SO GLAD I CHECKED to see if anyone had mentioned.

Will Smith's character is dealing with the loss of his child. In the process nothing has meaning for him and he writes letters to Time, Love, and Death to release his emotions and anger. Good film.

Hallo Kol288,

Hallo everyone.

This is an interesting topic. This could roll for years.

84 Charing Cross Road springs to mind.

Shop Around The Corner with Jimmy Stewart.  The story centers on a pair of pen pals.
