Thanks for posting the link! Very interesting reading.

So, of course we know who was behind Astorquiza-Rot. But Caffè Crema? That sounds... intriguing.... Just Googled it, and the color looks really nice....

Great Job, Claudia for bringing this to our attention!

Fountain pens are my preferred COLOR DELIVERY SYSTEM (in part because crayons melt in Las Vegas).

Wow, I just read this! No surprise to me that his answers are every bit as dreamy as his inks :)

 

I especially loved this response:

 

7) There are some fantastic inks on the market, what were you seeking to do differently with your range?

The difference is in the behaviour of the ink, I guess. Shading is not enough for me. It must have depth and range. Sheen is not enough for me. It must have life and glisten differently in different light. Colour is not enough for me. It must mature and ripen on the page and in the pen.

Thank you for posting that interview.

 

We had the Robert Oster inks as part of the Sf Ink testing stations and they were quite popular. Additionally none of the inks caused us grief in the pens. (unlike some of the other inks out there, like the shimmmer ones.. Shimmer inks are great fun, but wow they can be such a hassle)

Robert Oster's Fire and Ice is my most favorite ink color to date, including the shading and how it looks in different pens, fresh, and concentrated. I hope some day he'll come up with a way to make it a lot more water-resistant, and then I fear for the fate of my other inks :D

Thank you for posting this. It is very interesting. I love many of his colors, and the names are certainly inventive.

So many people have posted about the dryness and lack of lubrication of many Oster inks. Is he aware of this, and does he plan to make any changes?

      I got my first real fountain pen on my 60th birthday and many hundreds of pens later I’ve often thought of what I should’ve known in the beginning. I have many pens, the majority of which have some objectionable feature.
